Build an AI operating system for your company
Give AI durable company context, a work queue it can manage, and one cockpit where planning and execution stay connected.
Ben Sufiani · The article: Meet Jarvis, My Vibe Manager
Start with context the AI can keep
The first layer is a small set of plain documents about the company: who it serves, what it sells, what matters now, and what is getting in the way. They are working context, not a polished knowledge base.
Ben has AI draft the documents from conversations, research, and the existing website, then corrects the details himself. The founder supplies judgment; the system makes that judgment reusable.
“Everything AI needs to know about my business is in here – how my team is set up, my current struggles, our roles, and who our core audience is.”
Give the work its own management layer
Context alone can answer questions, but it cannot show what is moving. The second layer is a visible work queue where AI can create tasks, estimate them consistently, connect them to goals, and keep their state current.
The board is not the intelligence. It is the shared surface where a founder can inspect what AI planned, what it completed, and what still needs a human decision.
“You need a second layer. You need something like a business cockpit.”
Use the editor as the cockpit
The editor is where company context, the project board, and the work itself meet. From one conversation, the founder can inspect the plan, update a document, create an issue, or ask an agent to execute a defined task.
That makes the editor a business cockpit rather than a place reserved for code. The specific editor matters less than its ability to read the context and operate the systems the company already uses.
Make the system challenge the founder
A useful operating system does more than clear tasks. Ben asks it to compare completed work with the goals in his context documents, so it can surface where activity and intention have drifted apart.
This is why the three layers belong together. The context says what matters, the work queue records what happened, and the cockpit gives AI enough reach to close the gap.
“If you give it the context and inject your opinion and goals into that context, it will call you out on your bullshit.”
